Purpose of the Position:
The main purpose of this role is to oversee the 2nd shift (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM), Building S12 Facility Operations, by performing inspection, maintenance and repair of all related HVAC, plumbing and mechanical fixtures in a safe and compliant manner and in accordance to site cGMP policies and procedures. Role would lead all 2nd shift facility operations.
Essential Functions:
Working independently and be self motivated while overseeing the 2nd shift maintenance and operation of site equipment;
Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following;
On-site guidance of HVAC workforce, liaison with Management and on-site contractors, project coordination, PM & WO distribution plus timesheets control. Management of on-call staff to support operations during 2nd shift needs Ensure proper response to Customer requests are completed and documented in a professional manner. Execute and coordinate 2nd shift work orders to achieve on time completion while minimizing disruption to the business HVAC and Mechanical System Lead for On-Site BMS Systems during 2nd shift Reporting of BEMS and BMS alarms and responding to accordingly during the 2nd shift Also must be able and willing to complete the following as needed; Inspect, maintain, test, troubleshoot, adjust, repair and/or replace all related HVAC and mechanical fixtures i.e.,
Valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, pipes, motor starters, circuit breakers, CRAC units.
Domestic water systems, backflow preventers, general and laboratory sanitary systems, general commercial plumbing fixtures, laboratory gas and vacuum distribution systems, water purification systems, steam and condensate systems
Operational oversite and maintenance of all rotating equipment including:
Chiller Plants, Air Compressors, Vacuum Systems, Water Purification Distribution Systems
Operational oversite and maintenance of all pressurized vessels in accordance with local and state regulatory requirements Operational oversite and maintenance of environmentally controlled unit including
Refrigerators, Freezers, Incubators, Cryo Freezers
Knowledge of chiller plant operations
Must be expert in refrigerant leak detection, repair, evacuation and charging Perform general and preventative maintenance Inspect and change filters and belts. Inspect and grease motors bearings. Assist in troubleshooting and emergency situations. Complete necessary paperwork, i.e, Log Books, Work Tickets, PM Documentation. Use various testing devices related to the mechanical trades. Expert in mechanical and control troubleshooting Demonstrate skill and care in the use of tools and materials used within mechanical trades Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED.
AssociatesDegree or Technical Diploma with EPA certification, including 410A
7 years of HVAC&R experience.
3 to 5 years GMP Pharmaceutical Experience
Complete core BMS Training plus Programming class(es)
Working Conditions:
Work required in and around laboratory and regulated environments. Working in and around chemicals. Working in and around confined spaces. Ability to lift greater than 50 lbs. Ability to perform on elevated work platforms. This position requires regular medical surveillance and may require incumbent to wear a respirator or gown. Ability to work a minimum of a 40 hour work week. Ability to work Rotating Shift as needed as well as Emergency, Overtime, and weekend shifts.
Physical /Mental Demands:
Ability to work safely in an environment with hazardous, radioactive, and infectious materials and waste. Ability to work safely in an environment with exposure to high temperatures / pressure steam, compressed gasses, various noise levels, and high voltage energy supplies. Ability to sit, stand and move within workspace for extended periods. Occasional stooping, bending, stretching and lifting greater than 50 lbs may be required. Ability to perform repetitive tasks including frequent hand to finger manipulations, grasping, pushing and pulling.
