Director, US Strategic Payer Marketing, Immunology

The Director, Payer Marketing, Immunology is responsible for providing an integrated VAP product strategy for Immunology. S/he serves as single point of contact accountable for VAP / Payer Marketing with US Immunology leadership, and leads cross-functional collaboration / support of VAP partners (Channel and Patient Support Services, Value Marketing, Pricing, Commercial Economics and Contract Ops).

Responsibilities (consistent across US):

Establish / maintain product value proposition inclusive of pricing, access, reimbursement, patient services and dispensing for Immunology.

Oversee strategic and operational planning for payer stakeholders aligned to US Immunology strategy

Lead the integration of VAP deliverables into US Immunology business planning in coordination with direct report (Senior Product Manager)

Partner/member of US Orencia & TYK2 management teams; recognized as VAP expert and strong contributor

In partnership with US VAP Segment Marketing, Policy, and Pricing, identify, interpret and assess macro events and trends (payer, policy, economic) and advise on potential implications for Immunology

Identify refinements to payer strategy, tactical plans and specific tactics based on established performance metrics

Oversee the development of all brand specific payer resources and act as a liaison with all cross-functional teams to ensure pull-through activities are aligned with brand objectives and priorities.

Review payer-related communications, serving as Immunology primary point person for Account Executives, Access & Reimbursement Managers, Field Sales, MSLs, and Trade Sales

Act as key interface and collaborate with teams across US VAP, Policy, Medical and as needed Worldwide Commercial, Access, and Medical

Identify/integrate expertise from other VAP, Medical (US & WW) groups to achieve Immunology goals

Participate / lead cross functional Market Access teams

Lead participant in the Value Evidence Development Team (VeDT) for assigned Immunology brands. Coordinate the VAP cross function matrix including Value Marketing, Medical, HEOR, and Pricing to identify key opportunities and threats, established desired messaging, and prioritize data generation and publication plans to support.

Maintain and create environment of high ethical standards for team and focus on key BMS behaviors

Responsibilities (specific to role):

Lead the Immunology payer marketing matrix team to ensure effective communication across the key cross functional teams to gain alignment and take appropriate action to drive internal initiatives and address external challenges and opportunities

Collaborate with key VAP functional teams (Pricing, Contracting, AEs) and Immunology commercial leadership in maintaining appropriate provider contracting strategy to address changing market and policy dynamics

Manager for multiple direct reports – Senior Product Managers, Immunology Payer Marketing (ORENCIA & TYK2)

Candidate Specifications:

• BA/BS degree or equivalent

• 7-10 years of relevant marketing / market access / key account / brand management experience

• Channel experience (Commercial, Public payer; PBM; ACOs, IDNs)

• Reimbursement / affordability focus

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively and efficiently drive performance within a matrix organization, and form strong, productive partnerships

• Ability to work across boundaries and partner with various stakeholders to build consensus and get results

• Experience and knowledge of promotional regulatory processes. Additional competencies include strategic planning, marketing analytics, Immunology area knowledge, customer / competitive insights, and seasoned judgment

• Strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically about pricing approaches within a complex ecosystem/market

• Strong business acumen including a solid understanding of how various customer types make money and create value

• Demonstrated ability to drive execution of key initiatives and meet all deadlines

• Strong ability to prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA or other advanced degree is preferred

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Experience in translating insights and strategies into effective marketing tactics

• Experience leading multi-functional teams to accomplish specified goals

• Experience managing direct reports

• Experience in negotiating, executing, and implementing contracts

• Exceptional aptitude for learning quickly and ability to communicate technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders

• Track record of highly ethical and compliant behavior
