Pharmaceutical Research Jobs description

A pharmaceutical research scientist participates in research to create new dosage forms and specifications. A pharmaceutical research scientist provides specialized pharmacy services for investigational drug management. A pharmaceutical research scientist studies the process by which a drug is absorbed, distributed, metabolized, and eliminated by the body. A pharmaceutical research scientist provides investigational drug dispensing services that often require specialized and innovative preparation techniques. A pharmaceutical research scientist assists clinical trial sponsors and regulatory auditors in reviewing clinical trial sites and investigational drug management compliance. A pharmaceutical research scientist supports and coordinates registration and dispensing activities associated with special handling mediations that require patient registration, provider registration, and coordination with specialty pharmacies. A pharmaceutical research scientist also provides educational services to healthcare providers, pharmacy staff, and patients requesting access to specialized medications.

A pharmaceutical research scientist position requires a graduate degree in pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy and a minimum of four years of experience as a pharmacist. A pharmaceutical research scientist must be able to work independently and productively and be able to contribute creatively in a collaborative team environment. A pharmaceutical research scientist should have a strong publication record, extensive laboratory expertise, and excellent problem solving and communication skills.
