This will include the compounding and dispensing of prescriptions and I.V.’s, maintaining the appropriate records associated with them and proper computer entry to comply with state and federal guidelines KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Prepares, fills and distributes unit-dose medication. 2. Assists in the preparation of sterile intravenous under pharmacist supervision. 3. Performs clerical functions such as maintaining prescription files, answering the telephone and triaging phone calls 4. Maintains adequate levels of stock drugs in Automated Dispensing System on nursing units. 5. Checks for discontinued IV admixture solutions and antibiotic piggyback solutions in nursing unit refrigerator. Returns unused medications to the pharmacy.','Required Education for Staff Job Levels High school diploma or GED Required Licensure and Certifications Nebraska registered with the Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Technician or Eligible to be or registered as Technician in Traning, Certification completed within 1 year of Hire Iowa only technicians are required to register with the Board by submitting an initial pharmacy support person registration application for registration within 30 days of accepting employement in an Iowa Pharmacy as either a certified pharmacy technician or technician tranee registration.
