PHARMACY BUYER, Full Time','Full-time','Professional Clinical/Allied Health','7am-3:30pm','7am-3:30pm','64','64','None','None','IOWA-CORNING-MERCY CORNING','','The Pharmacy Buyer contributes to the CHI Health vision and mission by ensuring that pharmaceuticals are purchased for the CHI Health system in a cost effective, contract compliant and JIT manner. Oversees the repackaging and inventory needs of the Campus. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Maintains adequate stock of pharmaceuticals this includes IV solutions, dialysis supplies and controlled substances. Insures medication supplies are adequate at the campus. Orders supplies for off site clinic locations. Orders medications either directly or through the wholesaler. 2. Monitors the stock levels and needs of the pharmacy. Insures adequate back up supply is available of all materials needed for repackaging. 3. Maintains contract compliance for a multi million dollar budget of pharmaceuticals with Premier contracts. Works with the Operations Director and other Pharmacy Buyers as needed to assure medication supplies are adequate for our patients. 4. Contacts vendor regarding discrepancies, shortages, specialty items, stock shipment delays and adjustments. Informs pharmacists on campus of any medication shortages. 5. Coordinates stickers, stocking shelves and receiving and checking of supplies for the pharmacy. 6. Coordinates physical inventory of stock for the pharmacy Works with Fiscal Services to insure accuracy of inventory. 7. Maintains all legally required records of purchases for the pharmacy. Coordinates record transfer to long term secure storage. Provides an ongoing monitor of ordered medications against invoice and Pyxis vault transactions. 8. Meets with sales representatives to review new products and make recommendations to the Operations director and/or Clinical coordinator at each applicable location. 9. Insures all stock is in date and usable. Works with a reverse distributor to remove all out of date or unusable inventories for the pharmacy. 10. Handles all recalls notices for the pharmacy. Maintains a recall file. Insures all that all recalled drugs are removed from inventory and sequestered appropriately.','EDUCATION AND/OR LICENSURE: High school graduate or beyond preferred. EXPERIENCE: Five years experience as a buyer preferred, hospital pharmacy buying experience preferred. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Typing, computer entry, basic math, and communication. Working knowledge of pharmaceutical/medical terms, abbreviations, and symbols. Job requires continuous reading skills, and verbal communication skills.
