Medical Billing Jobs

A medical billing representative has solid knowledge of medical billing processes involving demo entries, charge entries, and cash postings to physicians. A medical billing representative performs insurance/billing clerical duties, including the review and verification of patient account information against insurance program specifications. A medical billing representative resolves routine patient billing inquiries and problems, follows up on balances due from insurance companies, and types invoices to be sent to insurance companies. A medical billing representative develops and implements policies and procedures for documenting, storing, and retrieving information, and for processing medical and legal documents, insurance data, and correspondence requests in conformance with federal, state, and local statutes. A medical billing representative analyzes and codes surgical procedures and diagnoses. A medical billing representative supervises staff in preparing and analyzing medical records and documents for the enterprise. A medical billing representative prepares and monitors department budgets and reviews worker compensation claims to ensure that billing information is accurate.
A medical billing representative job requires a high school diploma and one to two years of relevant work experience. A medical billing representative should also have knowledge of billing software, namely Medical Manager and Medic. A medical billing representative should have knowledge of medical billing and insurance claim filing as well as excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
