Cosmetic Chemist Jobs

A cosmetic chemist is responsible for developing new formulas relating to body, skin, and hair care products. A cosmetic chemist works on the development of several products simultaneously, resulting in the launch of five to ten new products per year. A cosmetic chemist carries out research on raw materials, performs quality control and stability testing, and reports to the director of product and brand development. A cosmetic chemist works closely with a production department and manufacturing companies on operating and calibrating basic lab instruments. A cosmetic chemist is responsible for independently identifying and developing innovative and consumer-relevant technology and formulas. A cosmetic chemist anticipates and identifies scale-up and commercialization issues for new products and formulations. A cosmetic chemist works in a close-knit, team environment. A cosmetic chemist makes critical observations, solves problems, and proactively makes decisions in pursuing projects. A cosmetic chemist also recognizes patentable technology and develops patent strategies accordingly.
