Synthetic Chemist Jobs

A synthetic chemist carries out laboratory procedures like mixing chemicals and conducting research on new formulae. A synthetic chemist participates in the identification, synthesis, and characterization of raw materials, intermediates, and drug products. A synthetic chemist leads a team of technical support people. A synthetic chemist carries out quality assurance procedures, checking all of results of lab experiments and studies. A synthetic chemist regularly takes note of the expenses and expenditures associated with his or her work. A synthetic chemist carries out laboratory experiments to synthesize compounds and purifies prepared compounds utilizing a full range of chromatography, crystallization, and distillation techniques. A synthetic chemist modifies reaction conditions in order to improve yields and purity, and analyzes and identifies compounds using common analytical techniques. A synthetic chemist also comes up with and tests new chemical theories. A synthetic chemist makes sure that the work he or she does follows government regulations on quality and health.
A synthetic chemist job requires a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a closely related field. A synthetic chemist should have a minimum of two to three years of experience with a wide range of techniques, particularly those relevant to organ-metallic and/or heterocyclic chemistry. A synthetic chemist should be able to work in a disciplined and methodical way, producing clear and timely documentation. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are also required.
