It's not exactly a career that every child dreams of when compared to cowboy, astronaut, doctor, and superhero, but as we get older we start seeing a lot more choices than we did when we were a bit shorter. Now there are tons of different career opportunities available and as such we should take advantage of them. For example, did you ever consider pursuing a career in pharmacy? It's a growing field, and it is quite necessary, so it's definitely something to look into.

What does a pharmacist do exactly? A pharmacist is very important, particularly in a pharmacy! As a pharmacist you will sort through prescription medications, hand them out to patients, and make sure that everyone gets the right pills. You will also answer questions from customers, work closely with doctors, and make sure that everything is going right. You will need to make sure that your customers' health is in prime condition, and that the medicine they are taking is helping them. This is a huge responsibility, so you need to make sure that you are quite ready to take it on.

If you feel that you are ready for it, then you should know that you would need to attain a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, which is also known as the Pharm.D. This will take about four years and your course needs to be accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education. There are numerous other fields and areas to master as well, such as math, biology, physics, and chemistry to name a very few. You will also find that different states have different requirements and to find the specific requirements for yours you will have to do quite a bit of digging.

As your work as a pharmacist you will find that you can be promoted to managerial position or even become a part owner of the establishment that you work for, depending on who happens to own the place that you work at.

Salary is important in any job, and as a pharmacist you will likely be making a salary of $90-100,000 dollars per year that will give you a comfortable living. If this is a career that you choose then rest assured you will be living comfortably for the foreseeable future.

A career as a pharmacist will be rewarding in more ways than one. First of all you make a great salary, and you get to help people. Can you think of anything greater than that? This is a great career for anyone who can take the requirements and the schedule.
